🔐 Key Lockbox Policy
For Drop-in Visits, House Sitting & Dog Walking
For Drop-In Visits, House Sitting & Dog Walking
To ensure reliable service and minimize risk, we strongly recommend that clients use a secure key lockbox for all drop-in, house sitting, and dog walking services.
A lockbox allows us to access your home safely and consistently — without needing to carry your physical key — helping protect both your property and your privacy.
Recommended Lockbox Requirements
We suggest purchasing a lockbox that:
✔️ Uses at least a 4-digit combination
✔️ Hangs securely on a door handle or railing or mounts to a wall
✔️ Is weather-resistant and durable
Once installed, please program your lockbox with a unique code and place it at your main entry point.
Entering Your Access Information
After installation, please enter your lockbox location and code in:
Time To Pet → My Address → Garage / Lockbox / Door Code
If you prefer, you may also provide access through:
✔️ Garage door codes
✔️ Electronic keypads
✔️ Smart locks
All access details must be entered accurately in your client portal.
Is a Lockbox Required?
A lockbox is not required, but it is strongly recommended.
Using a lockbox helps prevent issues such as:
• Lost or misplaced keys
• Hidden keys are inaccessible
• Power outages affecting electronic access
• Delayed entry during emergencies
Lockboxes ensure we can always access your pets during scheduled visits.

📌 Frequently Asked Questions
What if I’m unable to use a lockbox?
Exceptions may be made for apartments and condominiums.
If your situation does not allow for a lockbox, please note this in your Time To Pet profile so we can discuss alternative access options.
How much does a lockbox cost?
Most lockboxes range between $9.99 and $90, depending on brand and features.
Where should my lockbox be placed?
Lockboxes should be placed in a discreet, easily accessible location, such as:
✔️ Fence or railing
✔️ Door handle
✔️ Secure exterior fixture
Please inform us of the exact location and combination through your client portal.
What if I use a garage code or electronic keypad?
While electronic access is helpful, we strongly recommend keeping a physical key on-site in a lockbox.
Power outages, drained batteries, or technical issues can prevent electronic systems from working. A lockbox provides reliable backup access in emergencies.
How will my sitter access the lockbox?
Your lockbox will include instructions for setting your own unique code.
Once set, enter the code and location in:
Time To Pet → My Address → Garage / Lockbox / Door Code
We recommend completing this before your first scheduled service.
Please note: Refunds cannot be issued if services cannot be performed due to a lack of access.
You may change your code at any time, just be sure to update your client account and test the new code before your next visit.
Who has access to my lockbox code?
Your access information is securely stored in your Time To Pet account.
Only you and Raven’s K9 to 5 can view this information. All access details are protected within our secure system.
Important Reminder
Please test all keys before placing them in your lockbox to ensure they work properly.
Thank you for helping us provide safe, reliable, and uninterrupted care for your pets.
